Če vas zanima kje prenočiti, kaj si ogledati in kaj dobrega pojesti vas vabim k nadaljnjem branju :)

Hello!
At the beginning of July, I went on a holiday to Croatia with my family. We have been vacationing in Istria, Kvarner, and northern Dalmatia all my life, but this time we decided for Makarska Riviera. We were impressed by Brela, a small town surrounded by crystal sea, which plays an important role in the tourism of Makarska due to its natural and cultural richness. Since I spent 7 days there and was very impressed with the whole experience, I would like to share my Brela tourist guide with you today. If you are wondering where to stay, what to see and what to eat, I invite you to keep reading :)

NASTANITEV / WHERE TO STAY

On the Booking.com website, I found a beautiful apartment in Brela for 7 nights and paid around 700 euros (click here for a link), which is located 800 m from the famous beach Punta Rata. The thing I liked the most about our accommodation was the swimming pool and a terrace from which we had a beautiful view of the sea.
If you want a bit more luxurious accommodation, I recommend BlueSun hotel Soline or Marina. When choosing an accommodation, I would recommend you to choose an apartment as close to the beach as possible, because the path to the beach is quite steep and walking, despite a short distance, can be quite tiring.

OGLEDI / TOP SIGHTS

Top tourist attraction - Brela rock is located on the west side of Punta Rata beach and it is the symbol of Brela, which is also the most common picture from the Makarska Riviera postcards. This rock is standing in the sea and is overgrown with pine trees. I managed to photograph it on our the last day there, and it is the most beautiful at the sunset.

IZLETI / TRIPS

Cene takega izleta s kosilom so okoli 250 kn.

If you are like me and you get bored of lying on the beach whole week, then I recommend you to drive to the Makarska city, which is about 10-15 minutes away from Brela. Parking is available at fair prices in the city center, by the port (10 kn - 1h). Keep in mind that Makarska is very popular, which makes it impossible to avoid all the crowd. The restaurants were completely full at the time of our visit, so we waited 1 hour for dinner. Near the parking lot, there is a mecca for all who love shopping, stalls full of everything you can think of, from clothes to inflatable pillows, hats, skateboards and much more. There are also several clubs in this area. If the crowds do not excite you, then you can take a day trip to the islands of Brač and Hvar. Many young people are selling this kind of trips at the Punta Rata beach for around 250 kn per person (with lunch).

HRANA / FOOD

Along the entire beach, there are many bars, cafes, restaurants, bakeries, and shops. We mostly cooked in the apartment, but occasionally we also had a meal outside. We liked: Konoba Feral, where I ate a really good risotto, Guliver cafe, due to a pleasant ambiance and a great pizzeria Surf. Obid restaurant is a bit on the higher level and requires a reservation for the dinner table. For those who would like to watch the stars while sitting next to the beach and drinking a good drink, I recommend a walk to the west side of the Punta Rata beach, where there are many bars that have tables and chairs positioned just a meter away from the water. There are also some stalls with fresh fruit and vegetables along the beach and a lot of ice cream shops.

PROSTI ČAS / FREE TIME

When you are not going to lay on the beach, you can take a walk around the city, sit down on a bench and watch the sea, or go to the BlueSun hotel Soline on a wellness day. An all-day ticket for the use of sun beds and pool costs 10 eur. You can also enjoy sauna, massages, or beauty treatments such as pedicure, manicure and depilation. In the evening BlueSun hotels also have fun evening shows.
